How to get unbanned from Omegle in more detail:
Ever since the "dawn of Chatroulette", the online world has launched a slew of random webcam-match generating websites to fuel the ever-growing number of people that seem to love these websites.
Omegle is arguably one of the biggest webcam chat websites around today. The name is on-par with Chatroulette as far as popularity goes. So everyday tens of thousands of people online take to Omegle to meet and chat with randomly selected people around the globe.
However, with great "anonymous random webcam chat" comes great irresponsibility. Thus, thousands of users every day are banned from Omegle for any manner of behaviour deemed by the Omegle monitoring system as "bad".
When you're banned from Omegle, this typically lasts a few days. During this time, you are completely banned from accessing the standard, popular Omegle "Video" option. There is the option to use the "unmonitored" version of the service, but after a bit of research for this guide -- I strong advise against this!
So does being banned from Omegle mean your only option is to wait it out until the ban is lifted?
No! I figured out a solution to not only get unbanned from Omegle, but to also protect your online privacy while using the Omegle service. Thus, I decided to put together this quick, simple walkthrough guide for anyone also trying to figure out how to get unbanned from Omegle.
Why Am I Banned From Omegle?
This section of the guide really doesn't need any explanation. If you're reading this guide, then I can safely assume that you are completely aware as to the "bad behaviour" you were doing when on Omegle to get banned.
However, Omegle itself does state on the website that some bans are imposed mistakenly, so it may be the case that you were actually using the service in fair and "good" behaviour, with your being banned occurring completely by accident by the Omegle monitoring system.
In either case, it is understandable why Omegle has such a banning system in place. This website is definitely the "wild west" in many ways when it comes to what, I can gather, the vast majority of users go on the site for.
How is Omegle Banning Me?
To understand why the solution I lay out below is so effective, it's good to understand exactly how Omegle is banning you, technically.
So after a bit of researching, I quickly realised that Omegle uses a style of blocking known as "IP blocking". This process works by Omegle referencing your IP address at the moment you go onto the website. Your IP address tells Omegle of your exact location at that moment in time.
Thus, when you conduct "bad behaviour" on Omegle, the website instantly blocks your specific IP address from being able to get access.
With this understood, it serves to reason that if you are able to somehow securely and effectively change your IP address from your real one, that Omegle has blocked, to a different IP address -- you should be able to bypass the block and get instant access to Omegle once more with having to wait for your IP address ban to be lifted.
Once I figured this out, I knew a few methods that allow you to change your IP address effectively. However, the definite best approach for this solution is to use a Virtual Private Network, or "VPN". Why? Because a VPN is a super cheap yet incredibly sophisticated piece of software that is ridiculously simple to setup and use on any device you would want to get unbanned on Omegle via.
How to Use a VPN to Get Unbanned From Omegle
Step 1: Sign up for VPN
So now that we know a VPN is the solution here, I will walk you through how to quick set one up on your device in less than 5 minutes.
With so many VPN providers out there to choose from, each offering differing levels of privacy protection, speed and ease-of-use, I checked out all of the best-rated providers and decided to go with ExpressVPN for this solution. So I'll use it as the example for this walkthrough.
So go to the ExpressVPN website and choose the plan that best suits your commitment preference.
With your account setup and confirmed, you will receive a link in the confirmation email you get that directs you to then download and install the VPN software onto your device.
Step 2: Download & Install VPN
Then once you are in the download area, simply choose the software download for the device that you're using. As you'll see, you can use the VPN on essentially every device you would ever want to use Omegle on, which is great.
Once the software downloads, you will be prompted to go through the quick installation process that just requires a few clicks and seconds from you.
Step 3: Connect to Any Server on VPN
Once you've downloaded and installed the VPN software to your device, you're now ready to open it up and connect to a server location of your choice.
This is the part that will change your IP address from your real one to make you "appear" from whichever server location you choose. So go ahead and open up the VPN and choose any server location you want. For example, here's me connecting to a US-based server location on my Macbook:
Below is how connecting to the VPN looks on my mobile (Android) device:
Step 4: Enjoy Being Unbanned From Omegle!
Once you have connected successfully to a server of your choice through the VPN, you will securely and privately changed your IP address. So you can now go back to Omegle and you will have full access to the website that you were just moments ago banned from using.
Of course this means that you can now, if banned from the new IP address you are using, simply disconnect, choose another server location and reconnect to your VPN to get yet another different IP address associated with you -- getting you unbanned once again.
With that said, the best solution of course is to just stop doing whatever "bad behaviour" Omegle is banning you from, since life is short and you have greatness in you far beyond your wildest imagination, certainly more than spending time on Omegle doing "bad" things!
So this concludes my quick guide on how to get unbanned from Omegle in less than 5 minutes. I hope you found it useful.
Should you want to try a different VPN provider than the one I used in this guide example, definitely check out the five providers I recommend below. These were also personally reviewed by myself and found to be able to successfully get you unbanned from Omegle:
