Fried (Freed), not fried.
The standard operating procedure is broken.
If you follow the consensus path today—safe job, linear savings, average habits—you don’t get rich and you don’t get free. You get fried.
I’m Jordan Fried. My last name is pronounced “Freed.”
That coincidence is the foundation of this newsletter. We are here to map the journey from the first definition to the second:
From being fried (burnt out by a linear system).
To being Freed (liberated by asymmetric thinking).
The Laboratory
Fried.com is the public research journal of my Family Office.
Usually, a Family Office is a vault—a place where wealth is hidden and protected. I view mine differently. I view it as a Laboratory.
It is where I run experiments with my capital, my time, and my biology to find Asymmetry—opportunities where the downside is capped, but the upside is exponential.
I am not a guru. I am an investor, an operator, and a student. I don’t have all the answers, but I am obsessed with asking the right questions.
What We Cover
Each week, I share my notes on the three areas where I am allocating my own resources:
1. Wealth Asymmetry (The Macro & The Money) The fiat experiment is wobbling. I write about how I am positioning my portfolio to survive the debt cycle. We cover Bitcoin, Global Liquidity, and Alternative Assets—not to predict the future, but to prepare for it.
2. Business Asymmetry (The Leverage) I am fascinated by “boring” businesses that print cash and “exciting” startups that change the world. We deconstruct business models that have high leverage and high margins, looking for the engines that create sovereignty.
3. Life Asymmetry (The Biology) Wealth is useless if your body fails you. I treat my health as an asset class. From strict protocols like 75 Hard to my own “90-Day Discipline” experiments, I share the data on what actually moves the needle for longevity and focus.
Who reads Fried?
This letter is for the Barbell Audience:
The Architect: The young, hungry professional looking to escape the linear trap and build escape velocity wealth.
The Steward: The established investor or board member looking to stay on the jagged edge of innovation and protect what they’ve built.
Why Subscribe?
I don’t run ads for mattresses. I don’t sell “get rich quick” courses.
I write to clarify my own thinking. By subscribing, you get to look over my shoulder as I bet on the future.
Don’t get fried. Get Fried (Freed).
